This week's stats:
This week's loss = - .6 lb
Total loss = 35.6 lb
I know this week I was retaining water and I was recovering my previous bad week so I'll take this loss as a victory! I always feel slight disappointment when I don't hit the personal goal that I set for myself each week, but then my brain reminds me that I do need to be realistic.
February was a disappointing weight loss month for me. I hit a personal slump. I felt confident telling myself, and others, that I could do this and had all these plans, but life happens. The thing I need to learn is a better balance. I need to be more organized. Yes, organization is probably the thing I need to work on most. I need to plan better so I can make better choices when chaotic situations arise. I've had a different past few weeks at work and basically what it comes down to is I need to not slip into old bad habits when I stress out.
I'm a work in progress.
Also, last week I had asked for some feedback about what people liked/didn't like about my little blog and I wanted to address some of the feedback. First, thank you to anyone who took a minute to fill out my little questionnaire! Maybe it was early to have one, but when I started blogging I didn't think anyone would read and I always intend to write for myself and for as long as it makes me happy, but I think if others want to read along then I'd like to consider what you all would like to see!
By far the biggest comment I received is that some would like to see more recent pictures of my beautiful face:
Ok, so maybe people didn't write it quite like that, but overall the consensus was that people wanted more pictures. Being honest, I agree and realize that I don't post too many pictures. The main reason for this is that I don't take too many pictures of myself. I don't feel all that comfortable in front of the camera because I am unhappy with my appearance, I guess. Maybe a common fat girl issue? However, I do think that I should take more to better track my progress. So I will commit to trying to take more pictures and post some on here.
The next biggest comment related to wanting to know more about what I'm eating. I definitely can add more of this! My weight watcher's week begins Mondays so I will try to recap what I've had or highlight meals I want to share in a little blurb in posts for anybody who is interested.
Along similar lines, people requested to know more about what I'm doing to work out. Similar to recapping food I'll add a little blurb about my exercise for the day. Also, some requested more posts about my workouts with the personal trainer, so I will work on some of those also :)
A few wanted to know more about my family and their weight loss, some requested more posts about what it is like working as an attorney and/or busy professional on the go and what I do for food on particularly busy days, and some interested in more travel stories. I have plans to keep writing about all these topics and more, so I hope you enjoy!
Also, I polled people as to whether people would like to have their comments replied to via email or on the blog post directly. The overwhelming majority prefer emails so this is what I will continue to do. I try to reply to ever comment, so if you haven't been getting an email back from me it means that your email isn't linked to your username and you are listed as a "no-reply blogger." To make sure your email is linked so you can receive replies check out this tutorial.
I really appreciate all the feedback I received and if you ever have any questions or topics you'd like me to address more you can always email me at ktjweighingin(at)gmail(dot)com
Finally, tomorrow I have a new linkup I'll be announcing! I'm teaming up with Kim for a fun fitness linkup challenge that you all can participate in, so check back Tuesday for all the info!
How was your week?

Congrats on your weight loss so far. You deserve to celebrate it!

Dang it, my blogging novice skills are totally catching up with me. :) I couldn't find your survey anywhere. haha! I would love to hear more "life" stories and see more pics of you as well. :) I really enjoy "visiting" you through your blog! How on earth do you comment from a reply? I try... and I have no idea how to do it. :/ Haha! (You probably would never know I have been doing this for years... but goodness this networking stuff is all new to me! lol!)
ReplyDeleteI'm with Nichole-I can't comment with a direct reply on my blog...no clue! Congrats to you this week. Any changes are awesome! You look great in your picture and I would also like to see more of what you eat. I'm always looking for new ideas. I missed your poll too but have been behind on reading blogs for several days. Hope your weekend was great and keep up the great work this week!

ReplyDeleteI have zero photos of myself on my blog. I'm waaay too shy to put any up :-/
congrats on the weight loss lady! 35 pounds is awesome!! I suck at putting pictures of myself up too! Its because I feel like I always look like a hot mess, so I feel you on that one!
ReplyDeleteI am glad that you will being taking more pictures Because a lot of women (not just overweight women) avoid having their pictures taken but fail to realize by hiding from the camera you are taking away memories that your family will have of you.
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to read about your workouts and meals too!
ReplyDeleteYay!!

ReplyDeleteI noticed that as I started to gain back some of the weight that I lost I started taking fewer and fewer pictures of myself, like if I didn't have a picture of it then it didn't exist. I need to start owning up to where I am at and find the beauty no matter what size I am
