T.G.I.F.

I think I've used this blog title before, but today I mean it! Seriously, TGIF!

What a long week! I stressed myself out this week. I'm definitely finding myself fighting the urge to stay on the diet train when I have less time and life feels chaotic. Today I felt like I had so much paper on my desk and that my brain just was too overloaded from all of it. All that paper was just overwhelming me as I made piles during the week of things I needed to get to by urgency. Thank goodness I worked though such a huge chunk and filed away things so that my space was decluttered.

With the business of the week I've neglected the blog world a little. This weekend I'm relaxing, celebrating St. Patrick's Day, and catching up with some blogs and emails! Sorry to those I've neglected!

I have missed reading blogs this week. I love seeing what people are up to. I find so much motivation, ideas, recipes. . . you name it! Needless to say, I'm looking forward to catching up! On that note, what blogs do you love to read daily? Comment and share because I'd love to check them out!

Also, the news is out that google reader is going away July 1st. I've been really transitioning for a little while away form it so I think it will be ok. I've been using a site called Bloglovin to organize the blogs I read. When you login from a computer you can make groups for them to organize which blogs you read, but unfortunately on the phone app the groups don't show, but you still get a list of all your unread blogs. I really like it though for keeping track of blogs, so if you haven't already go check it out and you can follow my blog here!

Another new blog thing I wanted to share. Ok, so really it isn't new at all, but new to me is influenster. If you have a blog, facebook, twitter - you can make an account and based on your influence you could be sent products to try. Pretty cool, I think.

I received my first package! I was selected for the Sweetheart VoxBox:

The VoxBox* includes: Olay Fresh Effects, Secret Clinical Strength Deodorant, Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Texturizing Sea-Salt Spray, and SkinnyGirl Daily Brands on the go bar.

I'm not going to lie, it was nice to receive some awesome items to test out for free! But with that, I will tell you honestly what I think about the products because I would not endorse a product that I wouldn't use.

I was super excited to see that the box included the Olay Fresh Effects cleansing system. This winter has been awful for my skin! I really like this product. Just like the name says, my face did feel very fresh! This is something I will probably be buying once the sample runs out!

Keeping with the hygiene theme, I was happy to see a sample of the Secret Clinical Strength because, let's face it, I'm working out and sweating more and everyone wants to stay fresh and clean. I normally stick to powder deodorants because otherwise I feel like some can feel almost caked on, if that makes sense. I liked the scent of these, I didn't feel like it was too caked on feeling, and I didn't worry about it wearing off while working out, no one wants to be the smelly kid.

The next item, the Not Your Mother's sea-salt spray I need to try more. I have naturally curly hair and if a product can tame it then I'm all about it. I still need to test this product to see how it works with my hair, need to do it on a non-work day! I added it in with my normal hair routine and I do love the sea-salt smell you get, especially longing for the beach when we got snow here today! I want to see how my hair looks with no other product mixed in though, so I'll get back to you all with this one :)

Finally, the SkinnyGirl Daily Brands On the Go Bar kept me full. The flavor I was sent was coconut and peanut butter. I love peanut butter, I hate coconut. So for me the flavor was not my favorite, but I gave it a try and it did keep me full. I am interested to try other flavors. Especially I'd like to try their chocolate with multigrain pretzel on the go bar.

Have you used any of these products? What did you think?

*I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.

  2. Hi Katie! I'm behind on blogging this week too. I would love to know how the sea salt spray works for you. I have naturally curly hair but straighten it all the time. I hope it works. I would love to try that out if it works good for you. My curls go crazy at times!

  3. TGIF indeed!!! I also have a hard time planning healthy foods and making good choices when I feel too busy and stressed, I try to take advantage of any free time in the evenings and weekends to plan ahead so when I do get stressed I don't have to worry about it

  4. Hang in there! I just started WW 2 weeks ago and this past week has been brutal. I veered off the train last night with a trip to McDonalds, then immediately felt guilty and hopped on the treadmill.

Love the free products, I just requested an invite! :)

And I had already added you to my bloglovin' list. :)
