I'm very proud to say that instead of giving up and going back to my old mentality of thinking that I was just meant to be fat, I didn't give up. I tracked my points, went to work out at the gym, and drank so much water. Last week won't be the last time I have a gain on this journey, they are bound to happen, but I need to accept the bad weigh ins and pick myself up and keep on going and commit to doing better.
My stats for the week:
This week's loss = - 4.4 lb
Total loss = - 34.6 lb
I do have some new followers, so hello! If you are new please feel free to introduce yourself in comments and say hi :) You can catch up on any of my previous weigh ins here.
With last week's gain I've only lost .2 pounds in February so I'm not losing weight at the quickest pace, but every pound lost is better than going in the other direction! Right now my weekly average is losing 1.3 pounds a week. This includes a period of about 6 weeks where I gained and lost the same 2 pounds. Many resources say that losing .5lb - 2lb per week is a healthy rate of loss. Some of us lose more or less depending on a variety of factors. The important thing is that we are losing. We are making those healthy changes and becoming the best versions of ourselves!
In the months that I've been trying to finally lose all this weight I've learned that I love broccoli, I can actually do "girly" push-ups, I'm capable of far more exercise than I could have imagined, I can push myself, and I am motivated. In addition to being so close to having a total loss of 35 pounds, I took my measurements this weekend and I've lost 5 inches from my waist. No matter how long this takes, it will be so worth it!
What is one thing you've learned about yourself on your weight loss journey?
This week the weather is supposed to be warming up so I will be resuming my lunch time walks, I will meet with the personal trainer twice, I have preplanned my breakfasts and lunches for the week, and I will be making sure I get on the elliptical more this week!
Week 6 = - 4.4 lbs
Total challenge loss = -7.4 lbs

ReplyDeleteSo proud of you for not throwing in the towel. Not letting the negative outweigh the good is sometimes the hardest thing to do. But you did it! Yay!
GREAT JOB! :) You're a rockstar!
ReplyDeleteWA-HOOOO!!! So glad you had a loss this week!!! I knew you could do it! :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome job! I think it's amazing that you recognized that your old self would have given up and you fought against that. I'm the same way. It's like making one food mistake and then eating crappy for the rest of the day/week/month etc. That's the OLD me. It's so so important that we've recognized those things and can mentally work around them to make ourselves better this time. I'm so sick of starting over so I'm determined to NOT QUIT! Good for you!
ReplyDeletewow!! So proud!! Awesome Girl!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! Good job on sticking with it even though it's hard! Slow and steady wins the race.
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Katie! Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteCongrats!!! Great job not giving in! The mental part is sometimes more of a battle isn't it!!! At least for me! Nice job! One thing I've learned about myself, is that you really really REALLY have to want it, to succeed!!
ReplyDeleteKatie I am so happy and proud of you! I knew you could do it!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the loss! You are such a good role model for not throwing in the towel. Can't wait to hear more about your personal trainer experiences!
ReplyDelete5 inches? that is AWESOME!! Keep up the good work lady, it is so worth it when you see those pounds coming off!! Although coming from a former self sabotager, I know how easy it is to get pissed when you don't see what you want to see!! I'm glad you stuck with it!!
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing girl! Never give up! One thing I've learned on my journey is the scale basically tells you nothing. Keep up with the measurements because that's where you'll be able to see the diff even if the scale isnt your friend some weeks. Great job girl!
ReplyDeleteHi KTG and friends :) I'm Laurie, one of those new followers. I've been overweight since I was thirteen and have roughly 85 lbs to lose. KTJ, your blog is a breath of fresh air! Your posts are so honest and have great content. I'm sure they'll inspire me on my way to healthy. Congrats on your lb loss this week and the 5 inch loss!!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your weight loss! And definitely keep up with KTG, she's excellent for motivation!
DeleteThank you so much! I appreciate you reading and following along!
DeleteCongratulations Katie - that is awesome - a loss is a loss whether youve already "lost" those pounds or not :)
ReplyDeleteYay a weight loss!! And those inches!! Great job, KTG! You're always good for my motivation!
ReplyDeleteWay to go Katie! 4.4 lbs is amazing. You are so inspirational! Keep up the hard work girl!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Sorry, I couldn't respond to you via email because you were listed as a no-reply blogger, but I appreciate your comment and wanted to let you know :)
DeleteYay! What an awesome loss! I'm so glad that you stayed positive and kept at it. :)
ReplyDeleteWOW! Congrats Katie. That's amazing. I'm in a slump. I am feeling unmotivated and I'm afraid I will see a gain on the scale on Weds. I've stayed within my WW points+ allowance, but I've felt more out of control this week and have a trip to San Diego and wine country next week. I'm really worried about going back to old ways. I love reading your blog because it (1) helps me realize I'm not alone in this struggle, and (2) motivates me to get my butt in gear. Again, congrats on your successful weigh in this week!
ReplyDeletei'm SOOOOOO proud of you girl! :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome!! Good for you for not letting a "bad" week knock you down!
ReplyDeleteYahooo!!!!! So proud of you!! I've learned that I'm way tougher than I thought I was :)
