Weekly Weigh In- 1/27/13

Overall, I actually did not exercise as much as I should have this past week. I had been getting some extra walking in during my lunch breaks, but work has been busy and it has been freezing, literally, so walking didn't really happen. I tried to compensate for the lesser activity by really tracking and sticking to program eating wise. I wasn't eating out as much and packed a lunch everyday and that really helps!

My stats for the week:

This week's loss = - 3.4 lbs

Total loss = - 34.4 lbs

I was so happy to see a bigger loss this week after last week! feeling so close to 35 is awesome! The personal satisfaction I feel after losing is such a huge motivation boost. I've seen the quote "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels" a lot lately and honestly I can't relate. I've never been skinny so I can only imagine how awesome that feels, but I can say that nothing tastes as good as seeing a loss on the scale. Repeating "it's not worth it" when I'm tempted by foods really helps. And when I have that high after seeing a good loss and have the great feeling of accomplishment I am happy with those choices because the bad food really isn't worth it.

January in Review: Overall it was a good month for me! I lost a total of 7.2 lbs for an average weekly loss of 1.8 lbs. I was only short .8 lb for my personally monthly goal of January. I'll take it!

In February I'm looking forward to seeing how working with a trainer will help with my weight loss. I also need to still work on trying some new recipes and work on planning out my dinners for the week in advance.

I'm also participating in a diet bet for February. If you want some added motivation you can still join the diet bet I'm co-hosting. You can find more info on how it all works here and if you want to participate just email me at ktjweighingin(at)gmail(dot)com for an invite!

  1. Way to go on the loss! I bet working with the trainer will help that even more. Keep it up. My week for the challenge was a loss of 6.6 pounds. Can't wait to hear how the trainer goes.

  11. Good work! Write yourself a little note on bright paper and stick it to the fridge and inside the cupboard door as a reminder when you are tempted...but change them often, as you start to ignore them if you see them too often. I need to change mine...they have been there so long that I catch myself noticing them and say "that's still there?"

  17. You had an awesome January! Woop! Slow and steady does truly win the race. Meal planning is key for me - if I don't do that, then all of a sudden my hand wants to reach my phone and order in pizza!

  19. 3.4 lbs is AMAZING!!!! What a great month you had for weight loss. I found your blog from someone else's and I just felt I needed to throw my 2 cents. I'd say don't go to the store hungry, and drink water like a fish. I've got 85 lbs left to lose myself so I'm right there with you. Can't wait to lose more :)
