First, I'd like to welcome any new followers! Thank you for following along on my journey. I love getting to know you all :) please comment and feel free to email me at ktjweighingin(at)gmail(dot)com!
Now, on to cookies! Certain foods can create more problems for you than others. For me, cookies are a BIG problem! My favorites are chocolate chip. I'm still shocked that I did so well and really used self-restraint over the holidays and barely had any cookies.
Sometimes they just call to me though. I get it in my mind that I want to eat them and then a mental battle ensues. I think it is worse when it is unexpected. Maybe why I did well during the holidays is because I expected to see cookies everywhere and prepared for it. Now it is when I stumble across them that I seem to have issues.
This happened today. I went into the kitchen area at my work to heat up my very point friendly soup for lunch and saw these:
Now, those aren't chocolate chips, but I know that they are good cookies. They were left out for anyone to take and I was definitely tempted! I had that whole inner dialog of how much damage it would cause to have just one. . .
Well, I said no. I reminded myself that it really wouldn't be worth it. Besides, who wants to eat a Steelers cookie when we were so bad this year? We didn't even make the playoffs. That doesn't deserve a cookie, right?
Crises averted. But, after you get the idea in your mind of wanting something sweet it is hard to kick that. It would have been easier today if I had a point/calorie friendly sweet snack on me.
I wanted to share the Celebration Cake Weight Watchers snacks with you all. They are delicious! They are 2 ww+ points per cookie. They are small, but if you just need that sweet taste then they definitely work. They sort of remind me of those zebra cakes, to a certain extent. They are really sweet though. I have a sweet tooth so I like them, but I think worth giving them a try.
They are on sale this week, along with many other of their snacks, so if you are close to a Weight Watchers location go check them out!
Do you have any particular foods that you find hard to resist? How do you not give in to the temptation?

New follower! I lack any semblance of self-control when it comes to Lofthouse cookies. Like I eat the entire package in a few hours. And I also lived in the Pittsburgh area!
ReplyDeleteHi! Thanks for following :) Always nice meeting a fellow Pittsburgher (even if former)!
DeleteThings like those can be so dangerous! I try to pre divide up things that come in big packages to limit myself to a serving. But it is difficult!
Oh my gosh that is EXACTLY like my work place. Someone is always bringing in sweets and that's my worst temptation. I'm glad you resisted...ugh...that was hard!
ReplyDeleteYes, definitely difficult to resist the temptation! Work definitely challenges someone who is trying to eat healthy!
DeleteI'm not a big sweets eater but cheese is my weakness. Good job on not eating those cookies.
ReplyDeleteThanks! We are total opposites then. I'm not a big fan of cheese, but a lot of people talk about laughing cow cheese being good options for healthy eating.
DeleteI will definitely be seeking these out. My weakness is actually cereal. There is nothing I love more than to have a bowl of cereal at night, it's my favorite nighttime snack. Really it's my favorite anytime snack. I seriously love it :)
ReplyDeleteIf you give them a try, let me know what you think!
DeleteWOW I just found your blog through Mama Laughlin and I look forward to reading all about your journey. I have yet to start from the begining yet, but I will. I am also looking to lose about 90-100 lbs with WW. I can't wait to see how we do it, <3
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa! Get started :) you can do this!
DeleteThese cookies are Amazinggggg! glad you resisted!!
ReplyDeleteYes! So tempting!
DeleteI have an awsome chocolate chip cookie recipe that my boyfriend loves and he always wants me to make them. My problem is the cookie dough, it's my downfall!
ReplyDeleteOh cookie dough. . . So difficult to resist that! Not even the fear of salmonella keeps me away!
DeleteFor me it's pretty much anything chocolate and mint, cheese, and pasta and bread of any kind. Let's just say, carbs are my major weakness :)
ReplyDeleteYes, carbs in general are also my weakness :(
DeleteOh, Katie - the list of foods that are hard to resist for me is a mile long. Right now I'm battling Girl Scout Cookies - Peanut Butter Patties specifically. There are some in my office, and I'm trying desperately not to give in!
ReplyDeleteGirl Scout cookies, yes those are tempting ones! I haven't seen any around here lately so I guess I've been lucky!
DeleteNew Follower...I found your blog through Mama Laughlin and I am excited to watch you on your journey and read what I have already missed!!! Can't wait to be your cyber cheerleader!!!! Congrats on resisting on the temptation!!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteHi! So happy to have you :) thanks for commenting and following. A cheerleader sounds great!
DeleteOMG, cookies are my downfall, too! Here's what would have happened if I saw those in my breakroom: I, too, would have paused and looked at them longingly. But, see, I have another freakishly weird thing about me; I'm vomit-phobic. I know, I know, TMI...but that fear would have kept me from eating the cookies...I don't know who's dirty hands have been on them??? This trick may not have worked if I saw them freshly opened, though...I would have had to resort to another tactic ;) Great for you for not letting them win! Super jealous that your grocery store has those WW cakes; I'll have to wait for mine to catch up but thanks for letting us know about them!!
ReplyDeleteHey, whatever works, right? I actually haven't seen them in the regular grocery store yet, but if you know any WW locations they sell them there where you go for meetings, at least here.
DeleteMy hardest things to resist are things I feed my kids! Pancakes, waffles, crackers and hummus, the banana bread I just baked....I'm doing Take Shape for Life with Medifast and it's pretty restrictive but that works well for me. Down nearly 50lbs. :)
ReplyDeleteWow 50lbs is amazing! If that weight loss plan works for you then that's great. Keep up the good work :)
DeleteWTG! Cake is my problem. Mainly the icing. One good choice at a time and it feels so good when you know you made the right one.
ReplyDeleteYes, definitely feels good when you know you've made a smart decision!
DeleteCake is my weakness too, Hollie and I've been trying to find a good WW recipe for cake with "realish" icing.
DeleteI will check all my books and see if I have any recipes. I haven't tried any yet, so I will have to look and give one a try. Please share if you find one!
DeleteOh man, those cookies look just like the cookie I use for my blog logo. I posted the picture when I first took it on Instagram saying they were like crack. Once I had one I wanted more. Soooo good but so bad at the same time.
ReplyDeleteCan you only get the WW Celebration Cakes at a WW location? I love Zebra Cakes so I would be interested in trying them.
I'm not positive if you can get them at any other location. I've only ever seen them at Weight Watchers. They do remind me of the zebra cakes, but not as soft as them. Hard to explain I guess. If you find them and give them a try, let me know what you think!
DeleteNew follower.... I am tempted by chips. If the bag is on the counter I have a hard time not opening it up and taking a few. This isn't too bad until you start doing this on every trip in there. I have learned to put the bag in the pantry and just that little thing keeps me from eating them.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to reading more of your blog.
Hi! So nice to meet you!
DeleteHave you tried any lower calorie chips? I like the Special K chips, they have a few flavors but I mostly eat the sea salt ones. Also veggie chips and veggie straws are great if you like to munch!
Ugh, hate it when people leave sweets in our staff room. I can usually resist the store bought kind, but homemade baked goods are my weakness. I usually tell myself if there are any left by my 2pm break, then I can have one. Luckily there is rarely anything left by then. At home, my weakness is red wine. I just want a glass when I cook dinner. Trying to drink smaller glasses and limit it to 2-3 times a week.
